Great day

Hey, I know that some of you won't really care much about my day today, but it was a pretty great one so I am going to write about it.

Several years ago, I heard a singer whose voice and presentation made quite an impact on me. His name is Buddy Mullins and he was singing with a group that called themselves, Mullins & Co. A few years later he joined the Gaither Vocal band and I really fell in love with his singing. A couple years ago I got to meet Buddy and his wife, Keri. We were working on a Gaither cruise and our rooms were on the same hall. During some down time one night I was able to introduce myself to Buddy and we talked for a while about music, life, marriage, etc.

Well, it was one of those great moments in the life of a young singer. I felt honored that I was blessed to get to spend some time with one of my vocal heros. Over the last couple years we have kept in touch and was thrilled to be able to call Buddy and Keri my friends.

Last month Carisa and I were on vacation and we stopped in Nashville and I had a chance to introduce her to the Mullins. We had a wonderful time and knew then that these were going to be lifelong friends.

Today Buddy and Keri were in Atlanta and stopped to see us. We had a great lunch and then came to our house and sat around the piano and sang together for a while. We shared some sweet moments of fellowship and laughter. It was a really special day for me. I got to sing (in my living room!) with Buddy Mullins. How cool is that?

Anyway, It was a great day.

Vinocity

Hey, guys. I had a really cool opportunity the other night. I was asked to sing with some great friends of mine at an Atlanta restaurant. We had a great night celebrating life, love, and family. The venue was beautiful and the people were great. A highlight of the evening for me was getting to sing with a wonderful trio, The ARH band. I also enjoyed sharing some new songs that I have been working on with my friend, Bill Turpin, along with some tunes from the current record. I thought it was pretty cool to get to sing "Come To Jesus" in that setting.

Check out the tour page on my website for several new dates. Make plans to come out and join us when we are going to be in your area. And as always tell your friends to visit the site. See you later.

Photos Coming soon

Hey, guys. I have had my web guys working on a small photo gallery for my website. I want a place to post photos from my concerts along with a few family pics and other stuff. It should be up and running now. If you go to www.donnyhenderson.com and click on "EXTRAS" you will see a paragraph that will direct you to the photo gallery. There are already a few pictures there and more will be coming very soon. You can also choose from several desktop wallpapers that are posted there.

Finally, there are a few random shots from the "Better Than Before" photo shoot.

Enjoy.

Storm last night

Hey, Guys. Sorry about not having party photos up yet. I just haven't taken the time to upload them to my computer. I will do it soon.

Last night we were out to dinner with my cousins and it started raining before we were finished. By the time we were headed home there were tornado alarms going off in our town and the wind and lightning was going crazy. When we got back to my house my mom called and said that they were eating at a different place and the staff had moved everyone into the kitchen because there was a tornado. We all went down to my basement and took some movies, pillows, card table and chairs, and a flashlight and played cards until the storm passed. It was wild but it will make a nice memory.

See you soon.

Fireworks

Hey, guys. Happy July 4th. Man, did we ever shoot off some fireworks last night! Yesterday afternoon a bunch of us drove over to Alabama to pick up a few things. By the time we were done we had filled the back of the Expedition. Later that night we set up chairs for all of the family (around 20 people) up on the hill. We set up the fireworks down by the lake and had a great time lighting up the sky. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

Today I am off to Atlanta with Carisa and the girls to meet more family for dinner at an Italian place for dinner.

See you soon. By the way, check back in a day or two because I will have posted a couple pics from the party last night.

Good day

Hey. Today Carisa and I went to my parents house and hung out with some family that was in town from Florida today. We all went to the mall to shop and see a movie. When we got back to the house we went to Carisa's grandparent's house to eat home made ice cream. It was great and my girls ate way too much. Then we went back to my parents and played Dominos for a few hours. The game is actually called Chicken Foot. If you have ever played, you know how fun it can be. It was a great day with the family.

Anyway, we just got home and are off to bed. I am singing at the Village in the morning so I need to get some sleep.

See you later.

New store coming soon

Hey, guys. I spent a little time today creating a brand new store. It should be up in a day or two. We are making available some official Road Crew T-shirts and hats, along with a couple other T-shirts and some children's apperal. We will add products quite often so if you don't see something you like, just wait.

We booked a couple dates today. That was a good feeling. Scott Davis and I still have a few Breaking The Mold dates left before the end of the year. If we are in your area, please come check it out. These are great concerts.

We have had quite a crazy week. My girls have been in swimming lessons everyday for the past two weeks and they graduated on Thursday. To celebrate we went to their favorite hot wings place and then we all got manicures and pedicures. I feel like a new man!

Well, I'm off to bed. See you later.
